Its form and color are inspired by the hillside landscape. This designed by Berkley-based McGlashan Architecture and located in Marin Country, near San Francisco. Roofs of all three levels are planted with drought resistant and native gardens. With the solar panel array, it is also designed for a net-zero energy footprint. Irregular Shape Residence by Rockefeller Partners

Not whole this site was buildable because of its irregular shape and a small grove of eucalyptus and pine trees but the house become quite a big project anyway. Thanks to such shape and a lot of glazing almost every room in the house is connected to the outdoors and has access there. Mountains House Design in Sierra Madre

It’s clad in brown/black volcanic stone, IPE wood, white stucco and steel. Located on a 17250 square feet lot near the Sierra Madre mountains. They both are protected from sun and neighbors with two massive oak trees. The site’s topography wasn’t ideal so there are a lot of subtle level changes between rooms that only add interest to the interior design. There is quite a big pool near by and...
